ggeowizard: YES I UNDERSTAND THE DIFFERENCE. Thats what I was trying to say. The whole thing is that I wanted to say that ALL people of ALL races have been racially discriminated at some point or another. Some more extreme than others, for sure. But I think we all need to come together to fight this instead of fighting over who was discriminated more. Everytime I tried to say something on her blog, I fucked up and worded it all wrong and people freaked out.

Right. So, if you understand the difference, you should understand that you are not racially oppressed. You may be discriminated against but you do not experience a systematic oppression. You will never experience a system that tells you (and everyone around you) from birth to hate you because of the amount of melanin you have; a system uses every tool to keep you on bottom.

To be an ally, to get people to work with you, you have to recognize your privilege and be understanding of people’s anger. This is centuries of violence and oppression on PoC’s shoulders that is being expressed. You have gotta understand that people will question you because of your privilege. People will be iffy because of their actual experiences. Even if you arent racist, you are apart of the group that participates in these acts. Instead of condemning the anger of PoC, collect other white people who are being racist. Briana doesn’t hate white people. She’s not being racist. She hates the system of whiteness and the fact that white people who commit violent acts aint bein checked for it. To be an ally, you have got to be quiet and let this anger be expressed.

(Published for the records. I’m not repeating this shit.)

Jonatha Carr and the non-black PoC role in Trayvon Martin’s death

Everything that needs to be said about Jonatha Carr

It’s so fucking easy for any non-black to pass judgment on her or any other black person in a similar situation. “She’s psycho.” “She shouldn’t have gotten that angry. What’s that gonna solve?”
Other PoC, we need to not pass judgment. We should be there for support. Trayvon’s death, as horrible as it is, is not something new to us. America has witnessed multiple similar hate crimes throughout history. This fucking nation was built on racism so wtf should we expect? We have similar struggles, but even as we are PoC, we still do not understand what it is like to be black in this society (and even worse, Jonatha experiencing all the hatred in the goddamn world for being a black woman with anger). We will never understand.

Also, white people you just need sit quiet and learn. Don’t think we ain’t side-eyeing the shit out of you in your hoodies. You aren’t all Trayvon. You don’t even have a clue what it is like to feel the anger Jonatha felt. You need to recognize that massive privilege ya got there and use it to educate.
